The protagonist, Jing Ran, struggles to accept the death of her lover, Mengchen. One day, she found a keepsake—an old film camera and a postcard of the "Alpenglow of Kawagarbo". Yet, she unexpectedly discovered that Mengchen had somehow returned, inside the frame of her viewfinder on the old camera. The weird photograph film with no people, the postcard with the same scene of "Alpenglow of Kawagarbo" at the film development shop, the shopkeeper speaking of an entirely different Mengchen... Step by step, Jing Ran was guided to experience the world through the eyes of her lover, Mengchen, fulfilling the lover's last wish, and encouraging herself to continue her own life.
